Using the high on Oct. 27 of 769 and the low on Nov. 25th of 666 his rule suggests a top of 872 on the RUT(769-666=103+769=872). I know you had mentioned 868 in a past post. This would seem to imply more insane upside. I may take a flyer at the remaining 41 pts in an ATM call for February. This swing rule works in reverse as well. Just some info. Not trading advice of course. I would appreciate any comments. This is like PL and Katzo said, the trendline is still intact and needs to be broken. It appears we are in a trendline analysis mode right now. Maybe a different perspective. BTW the NDX target is 2610. I find that insane but I can only operate on numbers. Thanks for any input.truerangeballisticnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-947237681666122369.post-65971194918174214422012-02-05T09:08:01.354-10:002012-02-05T09:08:01.354-10:00 bottom?!?! oh no bottom?!?! oh nomavrichnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-947237681666122369.post-1670552370951335032012-02-05T08:58:40.993-10:002012-02-05T08:58:40.993-10:00There seems to be some disagreement as to whether ...There seems to be some disagreement as to whether it's 6 or 7 or 6 and 7. I just watched a video with Demark himself explaining it and he didn't say anything about 7 or 8. He just said talked about 6 and 9. One of the things that bug me about Demark indicators is that while they seem fairly simple, there appear to be some ins and outs that are not well documented. If you watch the DeMark videos on youtube you'll note that he keeps saying, "...and this is not in the book."CalDnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-947237681666122369.post-43802336295853346962012-02-05T08:20:21.716-10:002012-02-05T08:20:21.716-10:00Anyone done any business with OEC futures?Anyone done any business with OEC futures?CalDnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-947237681666122369.post-40229770106233251702012-02-05T07:03:44.632-10:002012-02-05T07:03:44.632-10:00 look at apple 3 yr chart. nice cross 3 years back... look at apple 3 yr chart. nice cross 3 years back and 200 day was barely breached once. If divergence in W%R remains, good possibility we have tapped the IT bottom or are damn close to it. Chart is the 480; sometimes the best view is seen by not using the chart everyone else watches but just off the common time frame (i.e. instead of the 5 or 10 I use the 8, instead of the 10 or 15 I use the 13 ( both fib. #s)).

http://www.screencast.com/users/katzo7/folders/Jing/media/52d68447-9d4c-4c04-ad19-70cd5d00cd7ckatzo7noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-947237681666122369.post-45672611200487557602012-02-05T04:50:58.681-10:002012-02-05T04:50:58.681-10:00Not finding too much to talk about in the charts. ...Not finding too much to talk about in the charts. AAPLs possible Island Top is no more, got caught up in the mrkt rise. 50% of a stock's move can be attributed to the direction of the general mrkt; get that correct and you are trading in context with the mrkt. Avoid clairvoyant gurus, this is nothing but a lot of hard work. Entry into AAPL short position should be after the Island Top was formed, not before. That is why it is so important to judge the mrkt direction correctly. IMO gold and oil are in a waiting period; no clear IT direction discernible.

AZO ~ possible ending spike to its previous high and then a IT shorting candidate if mrkt falls. But I think it will not fall for long so a ST play. And not fall far. The 350 -55 area is a possibility.

http://www.screencast.com/users/katzo7/folders/Jing/media/e6601b0f-05bc-4693-b41a-be146cd2121a

AMZN follow up ~ a take aways from AMZN trade:

1) earning stock movements are predictable before the news (I got GOOG correct too)
2) when news comes out it is too late for the RTH trader, avoid being whipsawed by the news
3) stocks usually run with the mrkt unless an external force is applied (earning news, bad news, good news, one cannot predict to two latter so why bother), rising tide, falling tide stuff
4) BB breakouts (BBB) are a powerful force to play, John Bollinger's tool is very useful, most of the time (~70%)
5) we take winning profits NO MATTER where we think the mrkt is going
6) we cap losers quickly
7) bad earnings tanked AMZN but BBB and rising mrkt brought it back up
8) dojis and indicator candles have to be in the right place for them to mean anything
a) they can appear on any time frame
b) one needs to switch time frames intraday if using candle identification to search for them (this is a PITA and is lots of work)
a) dojis at points of transition (EW levels) matter
b) dojis can separate or bifurcate a move, become a breathing or resting point (on my ES megaphone there was a perfect alignment of dojis superimposed on the NA (neutral axis) line
9) I expect a doji or indicator candle to be thrown off on AMZN and for it to head to about 180 soon
10) on BBB run, take high of 188 minus low of 172 equals 16; divide that in half (50%) and subtract it from 188. much above 188 brings this tgt up
11) this predicted small fall in AMZN should coincide with a general mrkt fall (retrace) and we could even use AMZN to time mrkt, or at least corroborate next mrkt move (point #3)
12) not trading is a position itself, we do not always have to be engaged in a trade
13) a 50% gain in an option is damn good
a) options are like tuxes, rent them and return them soon
b) ppls level of pain is usually about a 50% loss, that is when they bail
c) 50% is an important number in trading
14) profits are like a marriage, a long(?) term commitment we hope

There are old traders and there are bold traders, but there are no old bold traders.

http://www.screencast.com/users/katzo7/folders/Jing/media/6b33e8df-97e1-49b3-ba57-3aa69be4a4c2katzo7noreply@blogger.com
